We're on top of the crime... but there is still too much crime in Cairns - - Well well what have people been saying?

The Member for Cairns Gavin King has spoken about the crime on a number of occasions and has stated that the (government) were on top of the crime and has been reduced.
Then on Tuesday August the 5, 2014 The member for Cairns spoke on talk-back radio in cairns and stated that there is still too much crime in Cairns.
The crime has always been there and is getting more serious as time goes on.
How do we rectify the situation? the government needs to radically overhaul the justice system and until that is done NOTHING WILL CHANGE and the residents will continue to suffer the pain and discomfort of either being robbed, assaulted or living in fear from these young hoodlums.
Some politicians wouldn't understand this way of living which is a shame.
I am utterly disgusted with the way the government has completely ignored the judicial system but seem to sprout figures figures which really means bugger all.
I remember back in 2008 when radio host John McKenzie was interviewing Judy Spence the then Police Minister who explained the new crime figures to John who in turn said the figures were "fudge" so we now have a new government and there is no reason why these figures aren't "fudge" also.
As I have said before if the government doesn't do something positive the vigilantes will start popping up and someone will get seriously injured.
How long do the residents of this state have to wait for some real positive action instead of a band-aid solution on crime.
