Afternoon tea --- Don't forget the YO YO Biscuits

The Chamber of Commerce is to hold an "Afternoon Tea with Aquis" on April 1, 2015 commonly known as "fools day".

Chamber chief executive Deb Hancock said the community event was “to further substantiate the proponents’ ongoing commitment to Aquis” with tickets available soon.
“The Aquis proponents have been consistent and unwavering in their commitment to the Aquis project despite popular conjecture to the contrary,” Ms Hancock said.
“This event is intended to provide confidence to our community that the project is continuing … and to provide information related to the current status of the project, along with milestones and dates for construction.”

Cairns Engineer Pat Flanagan has been appointed Project Director of Aquis Great Barrier R
Pat Flanagan

A SPECIAL event for Aquis representatives to show their commitment to the $8.15 billion project, representatives what representatives we only know of one representative and that is the project director Pat Flanagan who was recently appointed by the disappearing Tony Fung.

With no finance, no licence no guarantee that Aquis is ever likely to go ahead Pat Flanagan is really directing nothing.
Pat Flanagan had this to say recently in the Cairns Post:
"Aquis project director Pat Flanagan has called on the Queensland Government to finalise probity and grant a gaming licence to “let us get on with the job”.
Well Pat the reason why the delay occurred wasn't with the government it was in fact the fault of Tony Fung who failed to attend three "FORMAL" meetings and more importantly failed to complete 12 of the 15 requirements so don't blame the government for your bosses failures.
I only hope that Pat Flanagan doesn't end up with egg on his face.
Then we have these comments:

Brett Moller
Chamber of Commerce and Industry Queensland’s Cairns based president Brett Moller said it was “extremely positive” that Mr Fung was “eager to meet and work with the newly formed Queensland ALP government to progress this integrated resort development”.

QLD_CP_NEWS_DEBATE_28JAN15
Advance Cairns chief executive Mark Matthews said the call by Mr Flanagan “indicates this project is going ahead”.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland chief executive Alex de Waal said it made sense to complete probity investigations and grant the licence before the Fungs invested more money on the rest of the required approvals.

Cairns Airport chief executive Kevin Brown said it was “another positive sign that Mr Fung is committed to the project”.
Tony Fung couldn't or wouldn't work with the previous government so why would he change now?.
Aquis, the way it is at the present moment will probably not see the light of day and with the latest news from China: http://www.cairnsvideonews.com/2015/02/chinas-president-just-declared-war-on.html Tony Fung's luck has probably has run out.
Tony Fung made the choice not to complete the probity requirements and lost out on a good deal with the Reef Hotel Casino which could have returned a nice profit but instead he chose to purchase a casino that the previous owners have been trying to off load for some time for the price of $6 million dollars and doesn't have poker machines and not likely to have as the ACT government has a bill before it to reduce even further the number of poker machines within the ACT.
These people who are pushing this non event for what ever reason will become so depressed when they realise that Aquis is not going anywhere  at any time they then admit "they told us so".
One has to ask "why don't these people start looking at other avenues of infracstructure and create employment in Cairns rather than dwelling on Aquis".
