Crime is still the same

We have heard in recent months that crime is on the decline, REALLY,
The crime in Cairns is still a serious concern and residents are still concerned for their safety.
We still have overseas visitors and locals being assaulted and robbed only to be slapped in the face by the laughable sentences being handed down.
Until this government shows some strength in making sure that the appropriate sentences are handed down then nothing will change  -- except the government.
If we allow the crime to get out of hand then there's no turning back because crime will rule and the police no matter what they do it will not overcome the crime that occurs.
The government needs to be tough but fair.

This is what the Member for Cairns had to say even though he made a statement not that long that we were on top of the crime.......
